Sections
1. Purpose of physical inspection
Physical inspection adds evidence that cannot always be obtained remotely. An authorised inspection can compare the actual gadget with the listing, record condition, inspect identifiers and document the handoff before a supported transaction continues.
2. Inspection workflow
- Request an eligible inspection.
- Select an active inspection location when one is available.
- Present the device and listing or transaction reference.
- An authorised inspector completes the applicable checklist.
- The report is stored against the listing or transaction.
- The transaction proceeds, pauses or is stopped according to the result.
3. Inspection results
- Passed — required checks were completed successfully.
- Failed — a material mismatch, fault or identity concern was recorded.
- In progress — inspection has started but is not complete.
- Cancelled — the requested inspection did not proceed.
4. Chain of custody
Supported inspection transactions record relevant handoff, inspection status, inspector and report information so a high-value device does not depend solely on private chat evidence.
5. What an inspection does not decide
An inspection records observable facts and checklist results. It does not itself adjudicate legal ownership or replace a court, regulator, law-enforcement authority or other competent body.
